Health-tested, genetics-informed Golden Retrievers bred for temperament, longevity, and family life. Based in California, with close ties to Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as the broader Golden community.
Our approach: science with heart
I’m Cindy, a PhD geneticist and lifelong dog person. I brought home my first Golden Retriever in 1988 and we spent the last 17 of his 19 years together. That experience shaped everything I value in this breed: sound health, steady temperament, and dogs who truly belong in families.

Small program, big support
Moxy Goldens is a small breeding program (typically one litter per year). We’re committed to lifetime support and community for our puppy families that are primarily located in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Canada.
Meet Moxy (and Helix)
Our foundation girl, Moxy, is a therapy dog with titles in scent work, tricks, and handler discrimination. Through Valley Humane Society, we participate in Paws to Read and support school and university students.
From Moxy’s first litter, one puppy stayed with us: Helix, an AKC Champion and Canadian Champion & Grand Champion.
Community matters
We’re proud to collaborate and learn alongside Tygold Golden Retrievers (Canada), Purbarn (Wales), the Golden Retriever Club of America, the NorCal Golden Retriever Club. and the San Lorenzo Dog Training Club. We particularly value relationships with breeders in the United Kingdom and Ireland, close to the breed’s origin and maximum diversity at Guisachan on the banks of the Tweedmouth River.
